Ri Ra

This month we had Irish food, because of well St. Patrick's Day and because a couple of us are Irish. We had an daunting task before us to find a good Irish pub here in Vegas, as our favorite one closed down last year. Lucky for us I work in an industry that allows me to find this stuff out. When I go the paperwork on a new Irish pub coming to the Manadaly Bay I googled them and then told everyone that I had found our restaurant.

When we walked into the restaurant you felt like you had been transported to Ireland, the music playing was Irish music (in fact several of our favorite bands were played) and there was this really cool sign that said God gave the Irish Whiskey so that they wouldn't take over the world.

We then got down the business of ordering our food. What a challenge this was as all the food delicious.

We ordered an appetizer of Hand Cut Chips with Irish Curry, these were absolutely delicous.
Kim ordered the KILBEGGAN SALMON -crab, shrimp & brie stuffing, lobster sherry sauce,
mashed potatoes, sautéed asparagus. She absolutely loved it.

Melanie and I split the IRISH POTATO CAKES - pan seared, savory sour cream, balsamic reduction, and the THE BISTRO crumbled goat cheese, walnuts, diced green apple, sliced red grapes, champagne vinaigrette. This was the best potato cake I have ever eaten the salad was amazing.

Jess ordered the SHEPHERD’S PIE - minced lamb, carrots, peas, onions, fresh herbs, savory gravy, mashed potato crust. She is still talking about how amazing that meal was.

For dessert we ordered rice pudding that was one of the best rice puddings we have ever eaten.

We all decided that we love this restaurant.

Steak and Shake

In October we all got the text that Kim was picking January's restaurant as her families favorite burger joint and one that she talks about in something else, from the mid-west was opening up in the South Point Hotel and Casino. When this month rolled around we were all excited to go there and eat about this place that Kim recommended.

It is an old fashioned burger joint. It had the black and white checkered floor, the music and some of the best burgers any of us had ever eaten and the shakes were AWESOME. There was even a yummy salad for Melanie.

Saying Goodbye to a Friend, Gaining a new one

This month we had to say goodbye to one of the original Dinner Gals. Julie moved to Northern NV and will no longer be joining for our monthly dinners. We are super sad to see her go.

We also welcomed a new friend Jess to the group.

While we will miss Julie we are excited to welcome Jess

Hash House a Go Go

This month Blythe got to choose were we ate and she choose The Hash House a Go Go and it was delicious the portions were so big that none of us were able to finish our meals. We ordered an appetizer Fried Green Tomatoes which I had never had before. Both Kim and Blythe ordered the Crab Cakes and loved it. Melanie got a salad. We were so full that we didn't order any dessert. The waiter told us that in the time that he had worked there no one had ordered dessert.

Table 34

This month it was Kim's turn to pick the restaurant and boy did she pick a great one. Table 34 is in a very unusual place and I have to say that is one of the appeals of the place.

When we got the menu we just kept looking at it and looking at none of us could decide what we wanted because it all looked so good. We were ordering for Kim as she was running late, and that added to our dilemma.

We finally decided and OMG was it all amazing. Kim got the Seared Scottish Salmon with Cauliflower puree and Lemon Dill Puree, Julie got the Herb Roasted Chicken with Apple Sage stuffing and Vegetables, Mel got the Fried Artichoke hearts with Spicy Aioli and salad, and I had the Arugula with Goat Cheese, candied Walnuts and Apple Slices.

Kim all but salivated over her Salmon, Julie's chicken was moist and delicious the perfect chicken, and Mel's artichoke's were simply delicious. My salad was one of the best salads that I have ever had.

We then ordered dessert and they were just as good as the entree's. Mel and Kim got the Vanilla Bean Creme Bruele, Julie got the Lemon Cheesecake and I had the flourless chocolate cake. The Creme Bruele was perfect, the cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever eaten, it was nice and light, and the cake was like fudge, one of my favorite desserts.

As dinner ended we all agreed that this is one of our new favorite restaurants and that we will definitely be back for more as there was so much food we want to try.

Bellagio Cafe

This month we went to the Bellagio Cafe for our monthly dinner outing. It was Julie's birthday and so she got to choose. The Bellagio Conservatory is one of her favorite places and as was decorated for fall so we of course  went there, plus she has been craving the Brioche French Toast that Mel got when we went there in Decemeber.

When it came time to order there were 4 orders of the absolute best french toast in the world, and one Cobb Salad. Afterwards we walked over to Crystals Mall at Aria, and then over to the most amazing bathroom ever at the Mandarin Hotel. We were going to get dessert at this amazing bakery in front of the Mandarin but they were closed. So we got gelato at our favorite little coffee shop at Crystals.
